1) 2012 Budget - Public Input Survey

The Town of Milton is seeking input from the community on the services and priorities for the Town's 2012 Capital and Operating Budgets. Have your say into what municipal services should be offered in 2012 and beyond by completing the brief Public Input Survey. Although comments will continue to be welcome, the deadline for this Survey is Wednesday, June 8th in order to prepare reports for Council to determine guidelines for staff as they prepare their 2012 Budgets.

www.milton.ca Click on 2012 Budget - Public Input Survey on both the Home and Current News page.
Only one survey will accepted  per email address, so hopefully your household will share an opinion.

It is a short survey - but your opportunity to provide input.
Please do not be intimidated by the request to provide your name on the first page.  This is only to confirm you are a Milton resident. (Use your fire number rather than your mailing address - especially if you have an 'out of town' address like I do (i.e. RR 2 Rockwood)
YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE SHARED  - EVEN WITH COUNCILLORS.
(I welcome your comments on a personal basis outside of the survey.)

2) Public Open House
Rounding out of Campbellville Hamlet
Wednesday, June 8, 7 0 9pm
Champion Room, Mohawk Inn

I have had questions about this Open House.
This Meeting is not being hosted by the Town, but rather a property owner (Dan Lane) to answer questions regarding his vision of the 'rounding out.'  The Town is NOT involved other than as a spectator. ( I'll be there, of course.) Hence the lack of Town logo on the notice & no mention on the website, etc.

As part of its new Official Plan, Milton Council supported a 'minor rounding out' of the Hamlet of Campbellville. This is a 'one-time' possibility under the Greenbelt Act. There are no changes to other Hamlet (Brookville & Moffat) boundaries.

The expanded Hamlet would consist of the area west of the current boundary (the new subdivision) to Twiss Road and north to Hwy 401.
The southern boundary would be Campbellville Road. The Region has NOT included it in its Official Plan at this time, and it must be approved at the Region (or the Ontario Municipal Board - aka  the OMB -  if appealed.)

The area includes approximately 6 properties/owners. Most are single family properties, but there is one large property. If included in the Hamlet, this property could be developed as a subdivision presuming ALL WELL, WATER, SEPTIC & OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES are met. The largest portion of this property is Environmental Sensitive land that cannot be developed, but could be deeded as a Trail/park system, something the Village is lacking. Any proposal would have to meet specific criteria and be subject to site plan approval. The 'rounding-out' does NOT guarantee development of any kind. It only opens a possibility that does not exist outside hamlet boundaries.
