5) NCCC - Police Activity
NEVER hesitate to phone the police (the non-emergency number is on the magnet) whenever you see or hear something that doesn't seem right.
The Police would rather respond to dozens of non-alarms than miss the lead on one real crime.
also ... if you see garbage dumped, let me know & I'll ask Town staff to collect it. It's easier to pickup while the bag is still intact - and less for road-side cleanup day.

Halton Regional Police Service conducted a commercial vehicle truck blitz with random safety checks October 21 & 22 at Mohawk Racetrack parking lot. Officers inspected 179 commercial vehicles, taking 79 vehicles out of service, a 44% failure rate. Three drivers were charged with operating without the proper licence and one operator was charged with exceeding his hours of service.  Police also charged one male under the Narcotic Controls Act.  Defects included brakes, steering, wheels, tires and suspension issues. Of note was a 53 foot trailer that was missing more than 50% of its wheel fasteners and all brakes were out of adjustment. The trailer was in a very unsafe condition and is the worst that the attending CVSA inspectors have ever seen. Running in conjunction with the commercial vehicle blitz was project wreck check; 23 passenger vehicles were inspected and 13 were taken off the road resulting in a 57% failure rate.

Murder Drop -  You've likely heard about the Toronto young man found in a barrel on 20 Sideroad east of Sixth Line Nassagaweya  last week.  This barrel was on the side of the road for at least 2 weeks...others saw it earlier. If you have any recollections, call the police.

Drug labs/Grow Ops  -  The rural area is prime territory. Alert the police if you see something suspicious. A drug lab was found in rural Milton - not Nassagaweya. Again, if you see something in your neighbourhood that doesn't seem normal, call police. They are here.

Break-Ins - We've been spared this activity for sometime - but it seems to go in cycles, and they're back! Lock your car & your home. Join rural watch & let's send them packing for another few years!

6) Suggestions for topics or improvement for this e-news are always welcome.
