"I never expected to be a politician, but if you more accurately term it as public service, it is, perhaps, a logical extension to decades of participation in our community.
And that is exactly how I see my role as a Councillor - that of service to you, the public.
Through my years as a volunteer, I have come to respect this community and its people.
There are 4 areas where I'm most involved:

Milton District Hospital - Milton Council's representative on the Halton
Healthcare Services Board (serving on Quality & Strategic Planning Committees);
Milton Physician & Recruitment Task Force; Friends of Milton Hospital. All
areas working to provide quality healthcare to Milton residents - including
meeting with Provincial representatives on the critical need for expansion of the
Milton Hospital.
MYAC - Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee. Milton Council's representative
working for, and with, youth to promote youth activities and engaging youth in
decisions of Council.
Nassagaweya - My beloved Ward, the former Township which refused to die
when annexed by Milton. Recognizing the importance of the horse industry,
working for improved recreation facilities in our rural area, preserving a
balance between work & play, and watching out for our interests threatened b y
neighbouring interests, including watertaking and quarries.
Campbellville - A Village with great promise for community and commercial
activities. Through the Destination Campbellville Community Association, great
strides have been made with beautification (almost weekly activities), the Gazebo
in the Park (with community events), and seeking ways to keep the Village 'in business'.
I would appreciate your support as I seek re-election as your representative - working for you at Milton Council. We have a healthy economic mix of families, farms, businesses, and commerce. We must be vigilant and work together to preserve our wonderful community." |
